We have recently learned of an urgent need, so the students and staff of Vandegrift High School are rallying to support the Travis County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 1099’s 6th Annual Halloween Bash benefiting the Austin Children's Shelter and seven other children’s organizations. Simply put: we need LOTS of CANDY! Our goal is 2055 bags (one for each of our amazing VHS students). We are asking for your support in helping us make this an unforgettable experience and a lasting memory for these children. Please donate new bags of candy to the front office of Vandegrift High School.
The children served are not able to go into the community and enjoy Halloween like other children, so the Explorer Post will spend the day converting one of the buildings into a ‘pretend neighborhood’ with each door being a house. Over 250 children and their families from eight different organizations will have the opportunity to stroll down the safe ‘neighborhood street’, going from door to door trick-or-treating and end up at a Haunted House.
