The PSAT/NMSQT score report presentation shown to students last week is located on the VHS main page. This PowerPoint presentation is a detailed explanation of the score report to help students understand how to maximize their efforts in preparing for the SAT in the future. Students currently enrolled in ACC English have not seen the English PSAT presentation, and they should view this online and seek out their counselor if any questions arise. Please use the unique code on the score report to access My College Quick Start on the college board website. This is a valuable tool that will give students and parents a closer look at the scores as well as begin a college map based on student identified interests and PSAT scores.

Exam’s for Acceleration will be held this summer for LISD students trying to move ahead in certain classes.
Testing Period !: June 12-14
Testing Period 2: July 17-19
All applications for Exams for Acceleration are due no later than May 4, 2012

Taking the Advanced Placement exams is an important part of all AP courses. We strongly encourage students take AP exams for the AP classes that they have taken. Scoring well on an AP exam can often earn students college credit for their high school class, saving a significant amount on tuition. For the 2012 AP exams, students at Vandegrift will be registering and paying online. The registration and payment process will take a few minutes and can be completed from any computer with Internet access. The link will be available on the VHS website when the registration period opens. Here are the important dates for registration: Mon, Jan 30, 2012 – Mon, Feb 20, 2012: Registration period for a fee of $90.50 per exam. Tues, Feb 21, 2012 – Mon, Feb 27, 2012: Late Registration period, payments will incur a $25 late fee.
