Viper Band Celebrations:

Congratulations to our All-State Students for 2026:

Alexi Heroux, 12th grade, Flute

Audryn Lee, 10th grade, Flute

Tibbie Mustacchia, 12th grade, Oboe

Yiming Peng, 12th grade, Eb Clarinet

Luke Xu, 11th grade, Bb Clarinet

Manny Pasala, 11th grade, Bass Clarinet

Blake Hannabery, 11th grade, Trombone

These students will travel to San Antonio in February to represent Vandegrift and Leander ISD at the Texas Music Educators Association convention alongside the top student musicians from across Texas.

Next, congratulations to our Vandegrift High School Trumpet Ensemble for advancing to the second round of the National Trumpet Competition in March.  Jack Cance, Matthew Vanston, Joryn Levine, Drew Jackson, Joshua Ray, and Cheyenne Shultz-Brian will travel to the University of Iowa to compete in person against the top trumpet ensembles across the country. We are also thrilled that Jason Gonzales’s group, the ATX Trumpet Ensemble, also advanced. ATX Trumpets come from several schools in the Austin area.

Finally, we celebrate Jason Gonzales, who earned a position in the Bands of America Honor Band of America. Jason will travel to Indianapolis in March of this year to perform alongside the top high school musicians from across the country during the Music for All National Festival. Way to go!

2025 Human Sexuality Curriculum-  Texas House Bill 1525 requires that students must opt-in to participate in Human Sexuality Curriculum.  Please see information below to access the opt-in form.   Parents should complete the google form by Apr 25, 2025 to opt in. Modules will be completed starting May 1- through PE classes.  Click here for the opt in form and for more information. 

Students- we have created a new academic feedback form.  Please use this if you would like to anonymously provide feedback about an academic concern.
